On February 24, 2022, in the early morning, the world woke up to the news of an invasion against Ukraine. What began with missile strikes against military targets and cities such as Kiev, Kharkiv and Odessa, quickly evolved into the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Today, together with thousands of other people, we are present at Sergels Torg, and we completely agree with Maria Malmer Stenergard when she said:
Four years of war in Europe. Four years of Russian crimes against people's lives, liberty and security. It's hard to take in that cruelty.
The War Continues
Unfortunately, the work is not finished here by the 4th anniversary, and although we pray that we will not write here again at the same time in 2027, right now the reality looks different. Reports are heard that peace negotiations are still in a deadlocked state, and City Minister Ulf Kristersson together with ourselves expresses dissatisfaction with Hungary and Slovakia's blocking of new EU aid as “shameful”. At the same time, we are working as hard as ever, preparing as much as we can on a daily basis to gather ourselves together for new shipments to Ukraine.
